The domed reading room, renamed La Trobe Reading Room in 2003, is a Melbourne icon that has inspired writers and artists since it first opened on 14 November 1913. Its 100th anniversary is being celebrated in a year-long program of events, including the Dome Centenary website and Enchanted dome exhibition (October 2012 – July 2013).
